in africa we have initialized belief that family owns everything, we have modified that into alot of expressions. some of the expressions are healthy others are dangerous. once you know them and have been able to place them as a person who want to run down your business, quickly map out strategy on how you discuss with them. family member run your business through credit purchase, bad debt, undermining your business process etc.as a business person this challenge could be very daunting as you may not have the strength to say NO, give them live stories of how businesses closes due to family interference.
so what do you do
1. Identify this set of people:
You notice your business is not growing and yet you havent identify the cause, Identifying them makes you understand and it give you an insight of those who can be a part of ruining your business, check this set of people and be proactive with them.
2. Make A Room For Such People Not To Be Around You For Long:
Sine you know what they want, make deliberate moves not to give them the opportunity to ask for free stuff or things on credit. when they come for credit purchase, be bold to ask for sizeable deposit.
3. Help Them As Much As You can:
Don't shutdown your doors, do the much that is within your power or business space. avoid pleasing family and friends at the expense of your business.
protect your business against your emotions. you will be glad you did.
